Modified Fundamentals
of Caregiving
Training Schedule

PLEASE NOTE: To qualify for the Modified Fundamentals of Caregiving class you must have a CURRENT  license to practice as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Nursing Assistant Certified (Nursing Assistant Registered does not qualify you for the Modified class), Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist in the State of Washington OR have completed formal training from a Medicaid approved home care agency within the past year OR have completed the entire Adult Family Home course.  You will be required to produce the ORIGINAL copy of your WA State License or Certificate of Completion of formal training or AFH training the first day of class in order to continue with that class and receive a Certificate of Completion for the Modified Fundamentals of Caregiving course.

Directions to the training facility will be sent with your confirmation letter.

As of January 1st, 2003, the Modified Fundamantals of Caregiving is now a Self Study Course. Please contact the PRN Training Office at 1-800-776-1101 x3 to arrange for your study materials and to register for one of the scheduled testing times and locations. 

TUITION: Tuition is paid by WA State for ADSA or DDD caregivers providing services under the MPCS, COPES or Chore programs only once, after which the caregiver is responsible for the tuition. Therefore, it is important to notify PRN if you will not be able to attend your scheduled class for any reason. For all other students as of January 1st, 2003, the tuition is $35 in King, Pierce and Thurston counties, and $40 in Lewis and Mason counties. PRN will gladly accept a money order or cashier's check made out to: Professional Registry of Nursing, Inc.
